As Instructional Specialist at VALRC, I work with both ESOL and ABE/ GED programs around the state to provide support in the areas of professional development, assessment, and instructional resources.

I am a native Virginian and recently returned after ten years in Arizona. I taught ESL (English as a Second Language) in Arizona’s university and community college systems and worked on several border projects in southern Arizona, including the development of a health literacy campaign on the U.S./ Mexico border. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Northern Arizona University.
