As Program Development Specialist for VALRC, I work on professional development projects addressing content standards, ABE/GED instruction, technology, assessment, program improvement, and other topics of current interest. I began my career in adult education teaching basic skills, computer classes, and math and measurement at the Employee Development Center at Philip Morris. Soon afterward, I joined the staff at the Henrico County Adult Education Center as an ABE/GED teacher and counselor before becoming Department Chair and Assistant Administrator. During my tenure with Henrico, I traveled part-time throughout Virginia delivering GED Connection and Workplace Essential Skills workshops for VALRC.

I hold a bachelor's degree in business management from Virginia Tech and a Master of Teaching in English Education and an Educational Leadership Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University.
