Dr. Yolanda Jaini is the ESL Specialist for the Early Reading First Grant, Partnership for Excellence in Early Language and Literacy Skills (PEELLS). As an ESL Specialist working to establish centers of excellence, she works with children, parents, teachers and assistants, and the PEELLS team at Blackwell, Broad Rock, Greene, Oak Grove, and Summer Hill Elementary in the Richmond Public School District.
For over thirty years, Yolanda Jaini has held numerous positions in teaching and administration at the public school and university levels. Her expertise include curriculum development and implementation, administration and supervision, ESL/Bilingual Education, Brain-based Learning, Reading, Early Childhood and such specialized training such as Complex Instruction.
Specifically in the area of early childhood and ESL/ Bilingual Education, she has taught Pre-school as well as developed model Early Childhood Programs in the public schools. As Associate Professor of Education, she chaired and directed undergraduate and graduate programs in Early Childhood and ESL/Bilingual Education.
Dr. Jaini earned her M.A. and Ed.D. from Texas A & M University at Kingsville, Texas. She earned her B.A. from St. Mary’s University at San Antonio, Texas.
