My role as Instructional Technology Specialist is to provide leadership for the integration of technology into the field of adult basic education. This includes supporting instructional technology services at VALRC and working closely with the instructional technology team to coordinate, design, and implement instructional technology services for adult educators.
A native of Wisconsin, I hold an undergraduate degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. My career experience includes ten years as a classroom teacher, ten years in business development for an architectural firm specializing in educational facility design, and ten years as an educational consultant, facilitating strategic planning and implementation processes relating to instructional change. I am currently completing my M.Ed., Adult Learning, through VCU with a concentration in eLearning theory, practice, and design.
I enjoy traveling and time with family and friends, yoga, Monument Avenue 10Ks, and dabbling in the kitchen. I’ve been married for 29 years and have two lovely daughters, a son-in-law, and a sweet old dog, Ruby.
