I have been the project coordinator of PEELLS since September, 2008. Prior to that, I served as the project coordinator of Richmond Early Reading First, VCU’s first Early Reading First grant. I previously spent 24 years as a teacher of young children, including preschool through second grades. I enjoy my role as project coordinator for the Early Reading First grants because it allows me to incorporate my experience as an early childhood educator into my administrative responsibilities. I believe that providing young children with a strong foundation for learning to read is very important work, and I am proud to be a part of it.

I grew up at the Jersey Shore, but I came to Virginia for college and have lived in central Virginia ever since. I have a BA in Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, also from William and Mary.
